About 73 Auto
73 Auto is a UK-focused Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) platform. Enter a UK vehicle registration and it builds a cost report for that specific car — combining official DVLA and DVSA vehicle data with its own category-by-category cost estimates for depreciation, fuel or energy, insurance, servicing, repairs, tyres, tax and finance.

What 73 Auto does
73 Auto turns a UK number plate into an ownership cost report: vehicle identity and technical data, MOT and tax status, and a modelled estimate of what the car is likely to cost to own over a chosen period. It also offers vehicle comparison, PDF export and a set of free single-purpose checks (MOT check, car tax check, vehicle history check). It is not a car marketplace, a listing site, or a direct car seller.
UK market focus
73 Auto covers the United Kingdom only. Vehicle lookups use UK DVLA and DVSA records, tax figures are calculated from UK Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) rate bands, and prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). It does not currently cover vehicles registered outside the UK.
Who operates 73 Auto
73 Auto is operated by 73 Auto Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16883211), operating from 71-75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Full legal and billing detail is in the Terms and Privacy Policy. 73 Auto is an independent product — it is not DVLA, DVSA, TfL, or affiliated with, endorsed by, or in a formal partnership with any UK government body. Where it uses official data, that is described precisely on Data Sources.
Official data vs. 73 Auto estimates
A 73 Auto report mixes two kinds of figures. Vehicle identity, MOT history and tax status are read live from DVLA and DVSA at the time of your check. Cost figures — depreciation, insurance, servicing, repairs, tyres, fuel/energy and finance — are 73 Auto's own modelled estimates, not live quotes or feeds from insurers, garages or lenders. VED is calculated from official rate bands that are entered into 73 Auto as fixed values rather than pulled from a live government feed. See the full breakdown on Data Sources and Methodology.
Limitations, editorial standards and corrections
Every cost figure on 73 Auto is a modelled estimate, not a guarantee, quotation or financial advice — see Methodology for the assumptions behind each category. For how content and figures are reviewed and kept accurate, see the Editorial Policy. If you spot an error in a specific figure or claim, see Corrections for how to report it.
