Limitations
Official data: DVSA anonymised MOT results (2023–2024), class 4 initial tests, cars at least 2.5 years old; fuel is DVSA's recorded fuel type (plug-in and self-charging hybrids are grouped). 73 Auto analysis: comparisons apply national rates for each test's age and mileage band. MOT results reflect maintenance, mileage and use as well as design, so a model's rank is not a reliability rating.
